New Orleans is a festival kind of town. In fact, we have so many festivals in New Orleans per calendar year, sometimes we have to double up because there aren't enough days in the year for all of them. Case in point: Vieux to Do, a duo of festivals that takes place around the French Market over the second weekend of June. The Creole Tomato Festival and the Cajun-Zydeco Music Festival combine forces to bring live music, cooking demonstrations, parades, and of course, amazing New Orleans food together all in one easy-to-stroll part of the French Quarter.

The Creole Tomato Festival is a celebration of our famous local 'mater, beloved for the robust flavor locals attribute to the rich, alluvial soil of Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parish, where the best Creoles are grown. This two-day celebration of the Creole tomato features some of the most informative and entertaining discussions about Creole foodways with the city's leading authorities on our unique local ingredients. Wander the French Market for tomato tastings, cooking demonstrations, and food vendors selling dishes featuring the famous Creole tomato.

The Cajun-Zydeco Festival, held at the Louisiana State Museum's Old U.S. Mint, brings more than 20 musical acts to its Esplanade Avenue and Barracks Street stages, including Grammy award-winning bands like BeauSoleil and Chubby Carrier.
