Tipitina's Foundation

The Tipitina's Foundation was established in 1997 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its mission is to support Louisiana’s irreplaceable music community and preserve the state’s unique musical cultures. The Tipitina’s Foundation originates from the Tipitina’s music venue, a historical New Orleans cultural icon that continues to be instrumental in the development and promotion of Louisiana music around the world. The Foundation works to support childhood music education, the professional development of adult musicians, and the increased profile and viability of Louisiana music as a cultural, educational, and economic resource. Rebuilding Musicians Village
Musicians’ Village, a cornerstone of the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) post-Katrina rebuilding effort, is designed to both construct a community and preserve a culture. Conceived by New Orleans natives Harry Connick, Jr. and Branford Marsalis, Musicians’ Village will provide a home for both the artists who have defined the city’s culture and the sounds that have shaped the musical vernacular of the world. The core idea behind Musicians’ Village is the establishment of a community for the city’s several generations of musicians and other families, many of whom had lived in inadequate housing prior to the catastrophe and remain displaced in its aftermath. New Orleans Musicians' Clinic
In collaboration with LSU Healthcare Network and Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans, The New Orleans Musicians' Clinic (NOMC) provides access to health and social welfare services for the local music community.
Since 1998, NOMC has played a pivotal role in sustaining the health of New Orleans musicians. As housing, family and financial challenges continue, we strive to remain a core resource for the music community. From providing medical services to funding gigs, our response to the needs of musicians knows no boundaries. (More)
