Kendall Gensler

Kendall Collins Gensler is a seasoned culinary professional, who received a diplome from the famous Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School and attended Johnson and Wales University for continuing culinary education. Gensler is a native New Orleanian, who has worked many facets of the culinary industry over the past twenty years-- in both the local and national markets to include the fast paced food cities of New York, San Francisco and Houston.

As an ambassador of the “culinary current”, Gensler founded Culinary Concierge Magazine in the Spring of 2000 as a platform for local food journalists to share bits of history, ingredients, recipes, people and pleasures that culminate to create the cuisine and the dining experience in an ever-evolving culinary city.

Kristy Buchanan
Swing & Lindy Hop

Kristy has always been interested in dance. One of her favorite solo dancers is Michael Jackson because of his use and modification of tap and Charleston moves to form his own style. Since March 2007, she has been studying lindy hop as well as other forms of swing dancing such as Charleston and balboa. She often travels to lindy hop workshops and exchanges to improve her social dancing skills and to learn new techniques like the Great South West Lindyfest in Houston, the Loan Star Championships in Austin, Swing-out Swing-In in Indianapolis, and Camp Jitterbug in Seattle. She has also social danced in Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmo, Sweden. Kristy placed second in the strictly lindy jack-and-jill competition for the Dance Renaissance event here in New Orleans and actively competes whenever possible. Kristy has also had the priveledge to learn under national champions such as Nina Gilkenson, Carla Heiney, Max Pitruzzela, Annie Trudeau, and Bill Borgida. Helping the lindy hoppers of New Orleans increase participation in the dance and attracting high-level dancers to the city to instruct and possibly relocate here is a goal Kristy has set for herself. Using venues like NewOrleans.Com, Kristy seeks to keep the New Orleans community up to date on what is happening in the lindy hop community world-wide.

Meghan Jones is a native New Orleanian, born and raised. She left the city for about five years to attend college at the University of Georgia, but moved back home after graduation to the only city that has a soul. She has a journalism degree, but is currently taking classes to go back to school for a masters in nutrition. Her favorite parts of New Orleans are also her favorite writing topics: the food, the people, and those odd little things that happen here that wouldn't ever happen somewhere else.

Angela Gail comes from a family of artists, from magicians to musicians to painters to writers to actors. All of this mixed together in her blood with the charming old soul of New Orleans to create an intense passion for all things self-expressive. Through years of modeling she learned everything she knows about portrait and editorial photography and through years of graphic design she learned everything she knows about photoshop and photo editing. This combined with such a tremendous appreciation of live music steered her the logical path of concert documentation. She has been involved in the local rock scene since about 1996 and continues to enjoy seeing (and documenting) shows anywhere within a 500 mile radius of New Orleans.
