NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Natchitoches Christmas Festival Committee has announced that LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri will be the Grand Marshal of the 2009 Natchitoches Christmas Festival Parade.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 as part of the 83rd Annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival.
Mainieri led the 2009 Tigers to the NCAA National Championship. He was named both the National Coach of the Year and the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year.
Mainieri began his collegiate coaching career in 1983 as the head coach of St. Thomas University in Florida and has coached at the U.S. Air Force Academy and Notre Dame before landing his current position at LSU.
