RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of New Orleans men’s basketball team will take a three-game winning streak on the road this weekend with a 1 p.m. CT Sunday matchup at North Carolina State.

UNO (3-1) is coming off a 65-51 win against Mobile on Wednesday. The Privateers got a career-high-tying 26 points from senior guard Billy Humphrey, as UNO finished off a perfect 3-0 homestand.
Now the Privateers are facing an NC State team riding high after winning the Glenn Wilkes Classic last weekend in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Wolfpack (4-0) wrapped up the title thanks to a last-second 60-58 win against Auburn on Sunday.
The inside tandem of Dennis Horner (6-9, Sr.) and Tracy Smith (6-8, Jr.) are combining to average more than 30 points and 15 rebounds per game.
“They are an ACC school, so obviously they are going to be very talented,” said UNO head coach Joe Pasternack. “They have good size, and they are going to get after us. We will have to defend and rebound for 40 minutes if we want to compete.”
Humphrey leads the Privateers in scoring at 21.5 points per game. The Chicago senior averaged 25 points per contest during the three-game homestand. He is the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.
Sophomore guard Charles Carmouche, who had 14 points against Mobile, is putting up 12 points per game while junior center Jaroslav Tyrna (10.5 ppg) is shooting 83 percent from the field.
UNO will be facing the ACC member for the third straight season. The Privateers fell to NC State in the season opener at home last year after upsetting the then-No. 21 Wolfpack in 2007 in Raleigh.
Former UNO head coach Monte Towe is in his fourth year at NC State as the program’s associate head coach.
