From her Cajun family farming heritage to running a certified organic farm and nursery in Uptown before Hurricane Katrina, and currently an organic urban farm in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, she has learned many skills that she enjoys passing on to other gardeners and growers through writing, seminars, workshops, and as a one-on-one gardening consultant, where she gets a sneak peek at growing spaces all over New Orleans.

The Green Project operates a warehouse store that resells high-quality, salvaged building materials at low cost to the community. Rebuild Green New Orleans

Rebuild Green is meant to help residents of New Orleans and elsewhere along the Gulf Coast create homes, employment and an environment that are sustainable in the 21st century. In so doing, Rebuild Green is working to regenerate New Orleans. The elements of this circle of regeneration are safe and strong housing, renewable energy, low-income employment investments, employment and training, wetlands restoration and bioremediation.
