I just drove by there and saw a sign that read "Buffet".

Is that new?  I just looked on their website and it sounds pretty good...Has anyone tried it?

Have not been to the buffet (it is only at lunch) but my last two meals there lately have been very good.

It came after they reopened post K.

Very handy for those days you need & in & out lunch.

Soup, hot entree, salad, quiche (usually 2), sliced roast, ham, or turkey (some times 2 or 3), sliced cheeses, homemade rolls, chicken salad and shrimp salad.

Last time I went it was $10.

I  have a friend who works at Uptown Square & meet her there occasionally, altho it's been a while.

However, saw a mgr who works there on Sat night & she said it's still going strong.

It's only for lunch M - F.

The buffett is good not great. You generally need to arrive between 11:30 and noon to get a seat. Typically, they have a soup, a few different salads including a pasta salad. A carved meat such as roast beef and ham and then may be one entree like a crawfish pasta or someting. A deal for $10 but don't expect to be overwhelmed. Although it is light years ahead of most buffets.

I think the shrimp salad is quite good; not something you would expect to see on a buffet.  The meats and rolls are tasty as well, but the main hot dish I have sometimes found to be unimpressive.

I've been a few times. It's basically well done catering food. Don't go expecting to amazed,  but it's a solid lunch option for a pretty good price.

Went last week. The highlight was the outstanding grits and grillades.

I'd agree with everything everyone has said about lunch!

One more thing, if you just looking for lunch that's fine.
If you are looking to have an experience of what their dinner fare is like, I'd say then go to dinner.

I also really like the shrimp salad!  Not the best I've ever had, but it is "good".

I'll have to be on a grillades & grits alert!

The buffet is quite good and the shrimp salad is excellent.  Overall, a great value for the price.

Isabella, I agree that their lunch in no way represents the dinner menu/quality/experience.  Funny how the walls seem soft and glowing in the evening and  the funky daytime decor seems to fade away into a warm romantic space.   Weird, but it's as if you're in a different place.

You nailed it!  It's nice to see someone else pays attention to the same details!

So did anyone go for lunch or dinner this week?  How was it?

Quiche and pasta salad are so, 1980's.....

At least they don't have ham and swiss on a croissant.....

Or maybe, everything old is new again...........

We went to Mat and Naddie's for the first time tonight.  The place is great!  The food was wonderful.  We started out with shrimp and crawfish croquettes as an appetizer..very tasty.  The three of us are close friends..so we're bad to taste off of everyone's plate.  We had the lamb ..barbecued shrimp..and redfish.  Everything was very good.  This one is a keeper.  We will be returning in the near future.
