New Orleans Food & Farm Network, www.noffn.org, is sponsoring its second Grow Mo’ Betta workshops, a series of sustainable urban agriculture trainings as part of its Farm-Yard Project dedicated to increasing local production and availability of fresh and affordable food.
The Farm-Yard Trainings teach the urban gardener or farmer sustainable growing practices and are created with a variety of gardening and farming types and experience levels in mind. Novices as well as seasoned growers are all welcome! Pre-registration is required.
From the Garden to the Table: Harvesting Basics
Now that our southern fall vegetable growing season is well underway, we invite all growers to attend our Harvesting Basics training Saturday, November 21, 2009. Planting your fall vegetable garden is a satisfying accomplishment. Come and learn how proper harvesting techniques will help increase your yield and crop health.
Two sessions will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 10:00-11:30 a.m., and 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Trinity Christian Community Center at 3908 Joliet Street, New Orleans, LA 70118.
Session fee is $5.
