The first seasonal beer from NOLA Brewing debuts October 10
NEW ORLEANS, La., (October 9, 2009) – NOLA Brewing Company is releasing its first seasonal beer, Hopitoulas, at 4pm this Saturday, October 10, at the Avenue Pub (1732 St. Charles Ave.) Hopitoulas will be a limited production India Pale Ale available on draught only from October 10th through Mardi Gras.
"Hopitoulas will be the first really hoppy beer that NOLA has released" stated NOLA Brewmaster Peter Caddoo, nicknamed Hopzilla due to his love of using hops in beer. Hops is a flower used by brewers to create a more balanced beer with overtones of citrus and pine.
NOLA owner Kirk Coco is excited about bringing a line of seasonal beers as an addition to NOLA's two flagship ales, NOLA Blonde and NOLA Brown. "This will allow us to experiment with more exotic beer styles and see what styles New Orleanians would like to see on a permanent basis.”
