About the Festival:
Bayou Bacchanal is the official Caribbean Carnival of New Orleans. This vibrant festival is one of the most unique and energizing parties of the city, which is an event that encourages everyone to participate with dance, singing and costumes.
The non-profit organization, Caribbean Carnival / Friends of Culture, hosts the carnival yearly in New Orleans every first Saturday of November that brings the city to life with amazing costumes, steel band beats, Soca music and authentic Caribbean cuisine. Bayou Bacchanal brings its party to the streets of downtown New Orleans starting with a parade at Harrah's casino, continues down famous Canal Street, and then takes the party to Lafayette Sqaure for more entertainment.
Bayou Bacchanal is a great way to enjoy the city and enjoy yourself. Bring your friends or the family! We are waiting to shake the streets with you. The festival is growing into an amazing event which is credited to sharing the Caribbean culture with New Orleans since 2001.
Bayou Bacchanal 2009 will be in downtown New Orleans at Lafayette Square located at 500 St. Charles Avenue New Orleans, LA 70130. The festival kicks off with a parade from Harrahs Casino at 10 a.m. and ends at Lafayette Square to start the festival lasting until 7 p.m.

After the festival, follow everyone to South Port Hall for a Caribbean concert starting at 10 p.m. featuring Roger George and D Band as the headliner and local favorites Ovi-G and the Froggies to open the show.
