What: First Annual "Wally Fest" Celebrates 80th Birthday of Lower Mid-City Veteran; Lead Plaintiff in Lawsuit against Mayor Nagin celebrates with Lower Mid-City community

Live music, featuring the Franklin Avenue Underpass Jazz Band with Dr. Guitar and special guests, will play and The Outer Banks bar will set up an outdoor bar and grill and sell food and drink.
Troop B- On Monday, November 23, 2009, students from St. Mary’s Dominican High School will participate in a Mock Crash involving drinking and driving. The Mock Crash will take place at 10:15 AM at the high school, located at 7701 Walmsley Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70125.
Students involved in the Mock Crash will act out a crash scene scenario in front of their peers, allowing the students to see first- hand how drinking and driving effects everyone involved. Parents of the students will also be playing parts in this scenario. The Mock Crash will emphasize the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving, the usage of seat belts and the emotional suffering families endure when a fatal crash occurs in reality.

Looking back into the ancient history of flower symbolism, that same rose might represent love, pleasure, pride, pain, secrecy, and even old age. The meaning, sentiment and “Language of Flowers” - a term first used in print in 1809 – traces its origins back to the earliest Chinese Dynasties.
