 The Green Project is governed by a 15-member board. Each board member serves for two years and is elected by The Green Project membership at our annual membership meeting each June. The Green Project operates a warehouse store that resells high-quality, salvaged building materials at low cost to the community. Since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita ravaged the Greater New Orleans Area and the Gulf Coast region, we have been fighting to rebuild and re-create our beloved city. We now have the opportunity to improve our environment by fighting for it! Through both national and local organizations, we have initiated a "green" era for New Orleans and we need to support these efforts. Rebuild your home with salvaged materials, recycle, conserve energy, use aternate resources and donate to these worthy causes today. Make the "New" New Orleans an environmentally conscious New Orleans!
Go Green NOLA's website is the guide for the New Orleans community on how to build and live green. We hope to introduce you to new ways of thinking and living because we know one person can make a difference in her/his community. We've found many people and organizations doing great things in this city and our site highlights their positive and forward-thinking efforts. So, what are you waiting for? We also think one great, real-world example is worth more than 100 theoretical ones. 
Rebuild Green is the concluding part of a three-stage plan by the Common Ground Collective. Rebuild Green is meant to help residents of New Orleans and elsewhere along the Gulf Coast create homes, employment and an environment that are sustainable in the 21st century. In so doing, Rebuild Green is working to regenerate New Orleans. The elements of this circle of regeneration are safe and strong housing, renewable energy, low-income employment investments, employment and training, wetlands restoration and bioremediation.
