A Hora – Tales of The Cocktail rocks this coming week and one of the most popular events in the 4-day line-up is Thursday’s Cocktail Hour – a drinks-centric gathering with featured cocktail book authors and stellar local chefs dishing out spirit-laced food. This year, Chef Kristen Essig of NolaBean does Sake Poached Oysters, Chef Duke LoCicero of Café Giovanni spikes BBQ’s pork with Captain Morgan Rum, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse Chef Jack Martinez splashes rum onto lime glazed shrimp with summer melon salad and Chef Raymond Toups of Anatome cures salmon and dill in Ciroc. Presented by Diageo from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Hotel Monteleone Ballroom, it’s a mere $35.00 per person.

Or, for those times when the crunch is calling, there are those damn addictive Dorito’s X-13D chips that taste an awful lot like a hotdog with the works.
