Plantations

 Classic plantation homes dot the Mississippi River in the South. The Greater New Orleans Area is no different. At one time, the plots of land near the river held crops consisting of sugar cane, cotton, rice and corn among others. Large plantation houses were the main homesteads and they were grand constructions of double-galleried palaces made to catch the river breezes.
