At Acme Gallery on Magazine Street, proprietor Jennifer Lindsley instructs both children and adults in mediums ranging from watercolors to papier-mache. Instruction is given in groups or by private tutorial. Jennifer's instructional philosophy is based upon the idea that there is an artist in everyone. Her curriculum instills confidence in the emerging artist and gives a thorough explanation of both technique and style. Jennifer has several years experience working with young children and high school students, and she combines her theatrical background with her art instruction to add energy and enthusiasm to her teaching. Jennifer's curriculum is an excellent addition to school activities allowing students to experiment and learn outside the classroom.

Earth & Fire offers all kinds of pottery classes for people of all ages: there are beginners classes that meet once a week for a month and are open to all; there are also special after-school classes that meet once a week from 4:00 to 5:30, and they are open for kids ages 5 to 14. The classes are $225 and last for six weeks, and the cost includes the use of tools, equipment, supplies, glazes, firing and instruction.

They also have summer camps divided up by ages and topics in different, week-long sessions like Bugs & Blooms camp and Needle Arts & Fashion camp. Finally, Longue Vue offers family programs like Kinder Garden, a garden-based, developmental class series for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years to come play with their parent or care giver in the Lucy C. Roussel Discovery Garden.

Throughout each week of our Young Adult Workshops, young adults will design and execute a number of multi-media creations while learning a wide array of innovative techniques and skills - utilizing a combination of the various studio areas available. Classes will be in glassblowing, kiln cast-glass, stained glass and mosaics, glass etching, metal sculpture, printmaking, bookbinding and copper enameling.

Red Kite Studio opened its doors in June 2008. We offer art instruction for children and adults. We have special "Mommy & Me" classes on weekday mornings to provide art exploration for children ages 2 - 4. Students discover their innate artistic talents through a variety of art media and projects. They are guided through the basic art elements of line, shape, color, texture and form in a fun, kid-friendly format. Red Kite Studio will emphasize the process of exploration and offer open-ended projects that captivate even the youngest of artists. Toddlers and their accompanying parent/care giver explore a variety of art media, including paint, chalk, markers, pastels, clay and mixed media construction.
