Is it a sign of spring or a sign of recovery? Either way, golfers will be happy to hear this: Audubon Golf Course in Audubon Park will be open for play on Mondays starting March 2, 2009. Audubon Golf Course has not been open 7 days a week since Hurricane Katrina.
Here you'll discover thirty-six holes of championship golf set amid the cypress lakes and pinewoods of southeastern Louisiana.
City Park has offered golfers affordable golf in a variety of courses for more than 100 years. For much of that time the Park has also been the home of a variety of professional and amateur tournaments. The Park’s golf complex includes three courses, a 100 stall driving range, golf clubhouse and a variety of support buildings. Not only was the Park committed to the play of golf but we relied heavily on it for revenue to maintain many areas of the Park besides the complex. For many citizens, City Park was synonymous with golf. And then came Katrina...

We recently acquired an additional 5.5 acres located on General DeGaulle near the old driving range. This additional property will give us even more flexibility with our plans.
Renovations are well underway on the golf course at Lakewood. We envision opening the course to the public in September 2008. Lakewood promises to be one of the region's finest golf destinations. The course is 18 holes, Class A, 6,800 yards, par 72 with a practice facility designed by respected course architect, Ron Garl.
We expect to start laying grass over holes 16, 17, and 18 at the end of August on the north side of the course near General DeGaulle and Lennox.
Other signs of progress:
- 11 lakes constructed
- Norman Canal closed
- State of the art drainage system contains all runoff on the property
- Ron Garl practice facilities to be constructed
The Deep South's Premier Golf Facility
Developed by Douglas Diez in 1997, Pelican Point provides golfers with one of the South's premiere golf facilities. Located just off the banks of the Mississippi River in Gonzales, Louisiana and behind the historic Houmas House Plantation, Pelican Point combines British style golf with a Louisiana flair. The course, designed by Ferris Land Design, Inc., covers 250 acres of what was once a sugar cane farm. It also includes 30 acres of lakes that meander through the prestigious Pelican Point Golf Community.
