New Orleans Theater
 Since Le Petite Theatre was established in 1916 (and probably before!), theater and the performing arts have been alive and well in the city of New Orleans. Nothing is as alluring and magical as the live performances of skilled actors telling us the stories of playwrights from around the globe. This fair city of ours has been the backdrop of a few plays itself like "Streetcar Named Desire" written by our own Tennessee Williams. Theater - Jefferson Performing Arts Society
 The Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to arts education and cultural enrichment for the New Orleans Metropolitan area. Founded in 1978, by Dennis G. Assaf and Hannah Cunningham, JPAS has grown from a community choral group to a multi-award-winning organization! JPAS is now embarking upon their 31st season of providing not only choral concerts, but also a plethora of professional entertainment including theatre, opera and dance. More than 10,000 youths are involved in a myriad of programs such as our Arts Adventure Series, Summer Musical Theatre Camps, Children’s Choruses, Stage Without a Theatre (SWAT) and Cultural Crossroads, which is specifically geared towards incorporating arts in education. Le Chat Noir
 Since 1999, Le Chat Noir has been considered New Orleans most intimate night spot and the premier venue for musical theatre, comedy and satire, cabaret shows and other types of live entertainment. Much of what we present is original work. Le Chat Noir is located at 715 St. Charles Avenue in the historic Warehouse/Arts District of downtown New Orleans. So, come in and introduce yourself. Le Petit Theatre
 This 92-year-old community theatre, Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, had its inception back in 1916, when a group of amateur theatre-lovers began putting on plays in the drawing room of one of the members. The enthusiastic audiences of the Drawing Room Players, as they called themselves, soon grew to the point where a larger space was needed, so the founders decided to rent space in the lower Pontalba Building, for the sum of $17.50 per month! Marigny Theater
 Marigny Theatre Corporation is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Specifically, this organization has been formed to promote the arts and culture, and provide instruction to the public on subjects useful to the individual and beneficial to the community. The purpose is to promote the arts and culture, and provide instruction to the public in the study of the arts. Actors' Theater of New Orleans It all began 20 years ago when René J.F. Piazza, a student at the University of New Orleans majoring in Drama and Communications, got together with a group of friends to produce their own video play. Essentially the final project for his beginning acting class was to perform a scene. Piazza took it one step further and wrote his own original script. He went out and filmed on location with a single camera and enlisted the help of friends and family for various locations while shooting the movie. (More)
