In 1978 Arthur Roger opened his gallery on Magazine St. in New Orleans' Garden District. The artistic scene in the city was just beginning to burgeon and the Arthur Roger Gallery moved to the forefront attracting a number of New Orleans most prominent artists including Robert Gordy and Ida Kohlmeyer. In 1988 the Arthur Roger Gallery moved to an architectural award winning space in the historic Warehouse/Arts District in downtown New Orleans.

The Bergeron Gallery has a large collection of vintage and historical photographic art of the city of New Orleans and the surrounding area with a small collection of vintage photographic images of Cuba. There are images representing special events in New Orleans, such as "The Arrival of Rex - 1907," to everyday life in New Orleans in "A Streetcar Named Desire - 1948" and "The Sample Girls - 1955." Various historical figures are represented such as John F. Kennedy, Clay Shaw, Louis Armstrong, Victor Schiro and Sweet Emma with the Preservation Hall Band. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Saturday 11am-3pm and by appointment.

Carmen's Gallery offers the best of everything when it comes to art and framing. A staple on Solomons Island for 25 years, Carmen's was just voted "Best Art Gallery or Shop" on the Chesapeake Bay. The second location of the gallery, at 2103 Magazine Street, offers original art by local and internationally recognized artists as well as fine crafts and custom picture framing.

Works by well known Mississippi painters Jere Allen and Robert Malone and sculptor Ron Dale can be found as well as impeccable works by Japanese painter Masahiro Arai, local realist pastel artists Sandra Burshell and Ed Dyer, and abstract painters Bernard Mattox and Karen Jacobs. A variety of three dimensional works are always on view from Emmett Collier's large scale vessels to Roddy Capers' blown glass orbs, Christina Goodman's masterful wearable miniatures and Michael Yankowski's detailed wooden alter pieces. Visitors may take their time and enjoy the variety of works that the gallery has to offer in the relaxing atmosphere of a restored New Orleans 19th century building in one of the oldest cities with a distinctly European aesthetic!

Fredrick Guess' use of bold color to create contrasts of light and shadow is a hallmark of his style. The techniques he has developed were influenced by the tutelage of Marilyn Bendell, under whom he studied for three years, and formal training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where he received his degree.
