Prospect.1 New Orleans
pros1logo.png

Thanks to the CAC's Dan Cameron, New Orleans will be home to the upcoming Prospect.1 art biennial, running from October 31 - January 18, 2009. 81 artists from all over the world will take the city by storm, installing murals, sculptures and performance art where once there were just billboards, abandoned houses and museum steps. NewOrleans.Com has an exclusive interview with Dan Cameron, the biennial's curator, as well as information on the participating artists and venues, community education programs related to the biennial and, most importantly, how Prospect.1 will revitalize our city's visual arts scene. Historyr
neworleanshistoricsign.jpgOne of the most fascinating aspects about New Orleans is its rich and colorful history. This city has had a wide variety of cultural influences (being a world port had a lot to do with that) including Spanish, French, Irish, Italian, Native American, African and Haitian. These different cultures have been amalgamated into this one unique location between the Mississippi River, Lake Pontchartrain and the Gulf of Mexico to form our beloved Crescent City. Discover how we have made New Orleans what it is today. (More) dor
